Did Simon Cowell really nix the idea of having Britney Spears join the X Factor judging panel? According to various online reports, Cowell isn't interested in having the pop singer be a part of the Fox singing competition, even though she is rumored to want the gig.
The former American Idol judge and creator of X Factor is reportedly concerned that Spears would not be able to deliver good advice, nor would the contestants take her seriously after her well-documented troubled past.
Instead, the 52-year-old music exec is looking for someone with more music industry experience to fill the vacant spots left behind by Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger.
Among his wish list: Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson!
