Ben Affleck has become pretty proficient in the director's chair (see Gone Baby Gone, The Town) and he's giving us a glimpse into his latest effort, Argo.

The movie is based on a true story revolving around a 1979 Iranian hostage crisis, where six U.S. diplomats are rescued from Tehran thanks to a risky idea to make them location scouts part of a fake film crew for the fictional movie Argo. Affleck stars as CIA "exfiltration" expert Tony Mendez, the man behind the rescue attempt.

Jennifer Garner's scruffy-bearded hubby is also joined by Alan Arkin, Bryan Cranston, Kyle Chandler, Tate Donovan and Victor Garber for the riveting drama.

Argo is set to arrive in theaters October 12.
