It was a big night for Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert as the country couple took home multiple trophies at the 46th annual Country Music Association Awards at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena Thursday night.
Miranda took home Female Vocalist and Song of the Year honors while husband Blake received nods for Male Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year but the real memorable moment came during their acceptance speeches that topped off an amazing and emotional night for the talented duo.
"I lost my brother in a car wreck when I was 14-years-old, and later in life when I decided I wanted to be a country singer, my dad always told me, 'Son, you should write a song about your brother,' " Blake said alongside his wife. "I just needed the right person to write this song with and the right person to sing it," Shelton said to his wife. "I love you so much, baby," he added.
"Thank you, Blake, for allowing me to sing this beautiful song and write it with you," Lambert replied. "Thank you CMA and all of our peers for voting for us. It's really emotional. We love y'all."
Other winners from country's biggest night included Little Big Town (Vocal Group of the Year), Hunter Hayes (New Artist of the Year), Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw (Musical Event of the Year).
