President Obama won a second term in the White House Tuesday night, according to network projections.
As of 9pm PST the incumbent president and his running mate, Joe Biden, tallied up more than the required 270 electoral votes, with wins in Ohio, as well as Iowa and Oregon. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan were leading the popular vote by about 200,000, but those numbers do not yet reflect ballots that were mailed in.
Romney spokeswoman Gail Gitcho told CNN that the Republican candidate was not prepared to immediately concede, but a speech would take place at some point later in the night.
Many celebrities took to Twitter to celebrate, including Katy Perry, Kerry Washington, Eva Longoria, all of whom played crucial parts in the Obama re-election campaign. We've got a round up for you below!
Obama will be sworn into office privately at 12pm on January 20, 2013, in Washington D.C. and the public inaugural ceremony will take place the following day.
Hurray!
