Rihanna has donated $1.75 million dollars to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown, Barbados in memory of her late grandmother, who passed away last June.
The radiotherapy department at the hospital has been renamed the Clara Braithwaite Centre for Oncology and Nuclear Medicine, and the 24-year-old singer visited the facility on Saturday with her mother Monica Fenty and her grandfather Lionel.
Rihanna said in a statement to E! News, "This was my way of giving back to Barbados, in a form of philanthropy, by assisting the QEH in its continued modernization program ... I believe that this will have a huge impact on the people of Barbados. This was all done to save lives or at least extend them."
Way to give back! We love it when celebs put their money where their mouths are.
Yet another reason why we love her!
