humphries051712_01_X17crop2.jpgKris Humphries' lawyer, Marshall Waller, has dropped the basketball star as a client right before the NBA player's joint court appearance with ex Kim Kardashian.

Court papers say Waller bailed due to "irremediable breakdown of the attorney-client relationship."

Kardashian, who is repped by Laura Wasser, filed for divorce on October 31, 2011 ... only 72 days after tying the knot.

Humphries, 27, responded by claiming he wanted an annulment based on fraud and asked Kim to pay for his attorney's fees.

Kim's attorney is expected to ask the judge for a March trial date.
