A court has just dismissed a lawsuit that LeAnn Rimes filed against two Northern California women, Kimberly Smiley and her daughter Alexis Smiley. The ruling prevents the reality star from refiling the case.
In the August 2012 lawsuit, Rimes sued claimed they bullied her on Twitter and recorded a phone conversation they had with the singer before posting it online.
Mrs. Eddie Cibrian said the recording damaged her reputation, relationships, and also caused her emotional distress, eventually leading to her stint in rehab.
Kimberly Smiley denied told RadarOnline, "I have a right to my opinion … I have never bullied her. She blocked me on Twitter and then I took my account private, so how can I bully her if I’m blocked AND have a private account? It makes no sense."
Smiley continued, "People who don’t like her have a right to their opinion. She’s a public figure. But I have never bullied her."
A lawyer for the Smileys says the two sides resolved their differences but would not comment further.
Rimes' lawyer, Larry Stein, was not immediately available to comment.
