After cancelling a handful of concerts this week and last due to a severe allergic reaction to antibiotics, Miley Cyrus has gone ahead and postponed the remaining domestic dates for her Bangerz tour.
Cyrus' representative told The Associated Press on Friday that the 21-year-old singer will resume the U.S. tour August 1 in Uniondale, New York. The new dates will include seven rescheduled concerts and two additional shows. The European leg of the tour is still scheduled to kick off May 2 in Amsterdam.
Miley was "placed on medical rest by her doctors" last Tuesday, forcing her to cancel her concert in Kansas, and she also had to pull the plug on her gig in St. Louis. On Thursday Miley tweeted, "So many ignorant stories out there no one is reading the official statement and these dumb *sses are scaring my fans. shut the f*ck up & let me heal. stop scaring my family, friends, & fans. OFFICIAL STATEMENT." She then posted the message below:
- "Miley was suffering from a sinus infection during her tour. She was prescribed the antibiotic Cephalexin which she's now suffered an extreme allergic reaction to. This type of extreme reaction can last from five to 27 days in these types of cases. She will remain hospitalized and is under a doctor's care until we see some improvement in her condition and is asking for your compassion and privacy at this time. Miley is devastated about missing shows and possibly disappointing her fans."
