Despite the fact that they went for dramatically different looks, Ashlee and Jessica Simpson both looked gorgeous when X17 photographers snapped the ladies at a pal's baby shower in Hollywood on Saturday.

Jess showed off her slimmed-down bod in a short purple shift while Ashlee wore an all black pant suit and heels, and it looks like her elaborate hairdo took quite a bit of time to put together, but we totally dig it!

Jessica posted the pic below and tweeted, "Celebrating the most beautiful mommy to be @laurenz422 I absolutely love you with my whole heart!!"
