Maksim Chmerkovskiy has had his last dance -- at least on the hit show Dancing with the Stars.

The Russian hunk has just announced that his time he's done lighting up the ballroom on Dancing with the Stars.

While making an appearance on The View on Tuesday, he said, "I'm done dancing. I feel like it's time."

The 34-year-old, who left after season 16 only to come back for season 18, explained that things felt different upon his return, saying, "When I came back to the show, it was not the same—I was different, probably."

He continued, "When I came back, I saw this amazing talent…I looked at it and thought they can do much more and better. I was taking up a huge spot."

Different or not, it's a good thing Maksim, who first hit the floor on ABC's hit show on season two, did come back for one more shot at glory. After years of losing out, the finally won the highly coveted Mirror Ball trophy for the first time with Olympic ice skater Meryl Davis.

Although news of his Dancing departure doesn't come as a total shock -- In June, he told Social Life magazine. "I want Meryl to be the last person I dance with. The last person I got to be passionate with and care so much for."

Looks like Maksim is a man of his word. We wonder how JLo feels about his career move?
