Selena Gomez got quite emotional while singing her new single, "The Heart Wants What It Wants," at the 2014 American Music Awards on Sunday -- in fact, she actually broke down and cried at the end of her performance!

Gomez closed her eyes and the audience heard that infamous audio recording of her sobbing about Justin Bieber dumping her, and during the heartbreaking song, there were all sorts of dramatic visuals playing on the screen behind the pop star. Gomez wore a gorgeous nude Giorgio Armani dress and looked absolutely stunning, and though she kept her composure for the duration of her set, she cried as soon as her performance was over.

Of course, cameras cut right to a sympathetic-looking Taylor Swift, and the day before her AMA performance, SG posted an Instagram vid talking about what she had planned for fans. "More than anything I’m just excited that people can, everywhere, who are feeling what I feel and feel that, will get to see THAT," she said, referring to her heartache. "And I just want people to be able to relate to that."
