Before stealing the show at the Met Gala on Monday night, Lady Gaga made sure she had all eyes on her prize with a brightly colored stripe dress and a pair of oh-so-wacky glasses.

Mother Monster donned the seriously mod look when she returned to the Carlyle Hotel in NYC on Monday afternoon. Clearly, the songstress needed some time to primp before her grand entrance at the Metropolitan Museum's yearly fete.

For the Met Gala later that night, Gaga opted for a glittering black Balenciaga number, which she kept on for the after party she co-hosted at Simon Hammerstein's Queen of the Night.

The guest list included A-list couples Amanda Seyfriend and Justin Long, as well as Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis!
