While the former boybander is busy working on his new album, his old band One Direction is getting ready to take a break. Don't call it a breakup, though, as they revealed on Alan Carr's Chatty Man that they only plan on taking 18 months before getting back to the grind."I suppose we are going to get bored because we are very busy minds. We all do the song-writing thing and that is going to be the thing that keeps us within doing the stuff that we love too. It’s just the stage we have to miss," Liam Payne explained.

Their break has freed up Niall Horan to make music with old flame Ellie Goulding, which is probably a little troublesome for his new love Selena Gomez. "I'm going to write with him. He's a really good guitarist and he's funny, cheeky, really cool. He's been my friend for quite a few years so I'm really up for it," the blonde beauty told The Sun about collaborating with the 1D star.
