Mariah Carey got engaged to billionaire boyfriend James Packer in NYC on Thursday night, E! News reports. The Australian businessman invited the singer's closest family and friends to a dinner at Eleven Madison Park so they could be there when he got down on one knee and popped the question with a massive diamond ring!

"As soon as their friendship turned romantic, they have wanted to spend every moment together. They have a connection that is unparalleled; it's been a very beautiful experience for them both. If you spend even five minutes with them, you can't help but believe in true love. They are just very cute together, they like doing sweet things for one another. They want to make each other happy," a source dished to the outlet.

This is the third marriage for both. Packer has three children, while the Grammy winner has twins Moroccan and Monroe from her second marriage to Nick Cannon. Their whirlwind ten month romance began this past June, when they photographed vacationing on a yacht in Capri.
