Kim Kardashian is set to receive the first-ever Break the Internet award at this year's Webby's, according to a statement released Wednesday.

"It would be difficult to underestimate the importance of Kim Kardashian West’s impact on the Internet. As the leading celebrity in terms of her online presence and understanding of how to connect with a global audience via social media, apps and online video, Kim has set the standard incredibly high,” the statement reads.

"Kim’s preternatural sense of being in the public eye, sees her appearing at seemingly every major cultural moment, most notably, her support of Caitlyn Jenner’s sex change. Likewise, with her suite of apps including the latest, Kimoji, which skyrocketed to the top of the most-downloaded list, Kim has expanded her celebrity into new territories and, safe to say, to a high degree of success as well," the statement adds.
