Ryan Lochte is in some serious trouble …

The Olympian has been officially charged by Rio de Janeiro police for filing a false robbery claim after, the Associated Press reports.

The gold medal-winning swimmer apologized to Matt Lauer on August 19 for “over exaggerating” his story that he and teammates Jack Conger, Gunnar Bentz and Jimmy Feigen were robbed at gunpoint at a gas station in Rio on Sunday, August 14. 

According to the AP, the 32-year-old manchild was told while in the U.S. and needs to decide whether to introduce a defense in Brazil.

Locate previously said, “I left details out, and that’s why I’m in this mess. [The people of Rio] put on a great Games. They did everything. And my immature, intoxicated behavior tarnished that a little.”

We wonder how this will affect his reported spot on season 23 of Dancing with the Stars?!
