This seems a bit extreme...

Justin Timberlake took a selfie while voting at the polls in his home state of Tennessee on Monday, and he clearly didn't realize that snapping pix at a polling place is illegal, so now he's facing a fine and possible jail time! The Shelby County D.A.'s Office tells TMZ the case is "under review." Yikes!

Taking photos, video, and recording conversations in a sacred voting space is against the law, which was passed last year. Nobody has been prosecuted since its passing, but it carries a 30 day jail sentence and a $50 fine.

JT just wanted to inspire people to vote, don't throw him in the pokey!
