PricewaterhouseCoopers is gonna get FIRED! This is the craziest thing we've ever seen at the Academy Awards -- an incorrect award announcement!
As Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway presented the Best Picture Award, Beatty was confused when he opened the envelope -- apparently it read "Emma Stone, La La Land." Weird thing was, she had just won for Best Actress. And obviously Beatty knew her name wouldn't be on a Best Picture winner's card. He furrowed his brow, re-read the card, looked at Dunaway, and stood quizzically, staring at the audience as they all assumed he was holding out for dramatic effect. Dunaway grabbed the card and chastised Beatty and read La La Land as the winner.
The cast and producers came on stage, started giving their acceptance speeches, handing out long-winded thank-yous to loved ones when a commotion broke out behind the large group. Men with headsets scrambled, Beatty commiserated with them, host Jimmy Kimmel joined in and word spread ... La La Land did NOT win. Moonlight won. There had been a mistake.
This is the best sh*t we've ever seen on the stale, boring Oscars and to top it off, it's OBVIOUS Moonlight was the best picture of the year -- that film rocked!!! Congrats to Barry Jenkins and his awesome cast!
