This has to be one of the most awkward photos ever.

Donald Trump brought wife Melania, daughter Ivanka, and son-in-law Jared Kushner with him to meet with The Pope at the Vatican on Wednesday, and to say things looked tense would be an understatement. The ladies wore long sleeve black dresses and veils to stick to protocol, despite opting out of wearing head scarves during their visit to Saudi Arabia earlier in the week.


According to People, the exchange was initially "stiff" and the Pope stood "stone faced" and didn't speak for several minutes upon their arrival. What was he so pissed about, you ask? Well, it could be related to the Prez's dismantling of Obama's climate change initiatives and drastic cuts to environmental protection programs. As a play on the POTUS' "America First" slogan, St. Peter's Basilica was lit up with the words "Planet Earth First." Oh snap!
