Forget the campy Mummy you remember from years ago, the franchise is back and badder than ever now that Universal Pictures has re-booted with Tom Cruise! The Hollywood icon is taking the reigns and he looked fully in control, as usual, at the film's Hollywood premiere Saturday.

He had some help from co-star Sofia Boutella -- an Algerian hip hop dancer who's appeared in Nike ads. She stars as "an ancient princess is awakened from her crypt beneath the desert, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia, and terrors that defy human comprehension," according to IMBD. We're assuming Tom Cruise's character's going to fight her -- but not before he falls in love with her. Gee, how'd we guess that?!

Cruise was also supported by a giant mummy enshrined at the Hollywood and Highland venue as part of the film's promotion. Universal Tweeted a pic of the 75-foot tall sarcophagus at the popular tourist destination.
