Finally, some kind words from Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle's dad Thomas! After a long-running rift in the family, the royal's father if putting out good words in honor of the occasion of the birth of his grandson.

He told the Mirror in a statement: "I’m delighted to hear that mother and child are doing well. I am proud that my new grandson is born into the British royal family and I am sure that he will grow up to serve the crown and the people of Britain with grace, dignity, and honor. God bless the child and I wish him health and happiness, and my congratulations to my lovely daughter Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry, and God save the Queen."

Moving on ... Meghan's ex-husband Trevor Engelson isn't thinking happy thoughts, according to a source ... "Trevor doesn’t really think about Meghan, as he’s in a very happy relationship and about to be married,” a source tells Us Weekly. “He will not be reaching out to congratulate them, as Meghan and Trevor no longer speak." HARSH!

Meanwhile, Meghan's mother Doria Ragaland is at Frogmore Cottage with the couple, tending to her new grandson. The Palace released a statement on her behalf saying she is "overjoyed by the arrival of her first grandchild." Sweet!

Meghan and Harry will first present their son to the world in "two days' time," as Harry told the media this morning outside Frogmore when he updated on his wife and baby. We can't wait!
