She's just like any other mom -- dropped your oldest off at college is super emotional and it's no different for Angelina Jolie!

Angie took son Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 18, to Yonsei University where he plans to study biochemistry. When asked how long she's staying she says, "I leave today; today is the day I drop him off. I'm trying not to cry." Awwwww!

But watch 'til the end -- there's one thing NOT typical of this mother-son rite of passage which is when Maddox's fellow students ask to take pix of Angelina and poor Mad steps back out of the frame!!! It's actually so sad!
