In a shocking turn of events, beloved actor Robin Williams has committed suicide. He was 63 years old.

The Marin County Sheriff's department has released a statement saying the actor killed himself by asphyxia at his home in Tiburon, Northern California.

According to the Marin County Sheriff's Office, authorities were called to his home but found Williams unresponsive, unconscious and not breathing. The statement said that the office received a 9-1-1 call at 11:55 a.m. saying that a man had been found “unconscious and not breathing inside his residence.” Emergency personnel sent to the scene identified him as Mr. Williams and pronounced him dead at 12:02 p.m.

Although his publicist wouldn’t confirm that it was indeed a suicide, his rep issued a statement, “Robin Williams passed away this morning. He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time.”

Williams was starring in a third installment of FOX's Night at the Museum film. The studio issued the following statement: “There really are no words to describe the loss of Robin Williams. He was immensely talented, a cherished member of our community, and part of the Fox family. Our hearts go out to his family, friends and fans. He will be deeply missed.”

The Oscar winner, who has publicly struggled with addiction for decades, checked himself into a rehab last month to focus on his sobriety.

Williams was a beloved comedic actor who also garnered critical acclaim (and the Academy Award) for his dramatic work. Some of his most loved movies include Mrs. Doubtfire, The Birdcage, Dead Poets Society, Good Morning, Vietnam and Good Will Hunting, the film that won him the Oscar.

Kim's hubby Kanye West wasn't around, but we have a feeling he might actually be flattered to know that Kim's butt is still the center of attention.

Kim arrived in New York late last night after making an appearance (and accepting an award) at the Teen Choice Awards, and earlier today she posted a sweet snapshot of her and Kanye making out in an elevator. While it seems innocent enough, we have to wonder if she wasn't poking fun at frenemies Beyonce Knowles and Jay Z...

The whole clan, along with the No Doubt front woman's husband Gavin Rossdale, recently returned from a trip to the British rocker's hometown of London, but it seems the sandy beaches of California is where they feel at home!

Child bride Courtney Stodden and never-was actor Doug Hutchison have reconciled and are set to marry again. Praise Jesus!

After three years of marriage, the 19-year-old and 54-year-old hit a rough patch, legally separating in November 2013. But it appears as though the love gods shined their light down about them and the twosome have decided to patch things up. We're so happy -- it's like a romantic comedy come true!

The 19-year-old reality star, who admitted she neither reads nor writes, said in a statement, "Doug and I have been through so much together, but somehow through it all, it brought us closer and confirmed my love for him." We get it Court, Dougey seems like quite the catch -- we know you wouldn't want that one to swim away!

Doug also made a statement, saying, "My love and respect for Courtney is timeless and I look forward to our future ceremony when we renew our vows."

Well … that means the crazy in love and planning on having another wedding. Sorry Kimye -- Doug and Courtney's wedding is sure to be the wedding of the year! Oh let's hope it's just as lovely as their Vegas wedding in 2011(you know … back when she was 16 and he was 51). Perchance this walk down the aisle, the vegetarian bride will wear a dress comprised entirely of lettuce? We can certainly dream ...

And of course, a true happy couple's rekindled romance wouldn't be complete without a joint statement. Doug and Courtney said,"We are very happy to be reunited."

Taylor Swift shows off her musical talents in a new trailer for the upcoming film The Giver, and the singer seems totally at ease on camera!

In the clip, the country cutie teaches Jeff Bridges' character how to play the piano in a memory. The actor was blown away by the fact they shared so much in common, too!

"Taylor was terrific. Our scenes we had together – a lot of the scenes were at the piano, so both being lovers of music, we talked a lot of music and got to pick a little bit betweens set-ups," he said of the Grammy winner at last month's Comic Con.
