Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth made their first red carpet appearance in 14 months at last night's premiere of the actor's new flick Paranoia in L.A., and although it looks like the volatile couple is back on after breaking up earlier this summer, reports claim all isn't what it seems!

The "We Can't Stop" singer was sporting her engagement ring and attempted to be affectionate with her beau to silence the split chatter, but all her efforts might have been merely an act.

"Miley and Liam acted like they didn't even know each other the entire night. She was wearing her ring but they acted as if they were strangers," a source dished to Us.

Don't count on the Aussie hunk clearing up the confusion anytime soon, either!

"On Twitter, I don't share anything personal. I try to keep as much of my personal life to myself. I don't feel the need to go out and show the world what's happening in my life every second. I think it's a good chance to connect with fans and give fans an inside look on films you do. I think it's great for that kind of thing, but it's very new to me," he added.

On Thursday, Helen Hunt and Luke Wilson broke out the wetsuits and surfboards at Venice Beach as they hit the Pacific to film their upcoming flick Ride. She looks great in a bikini by the way!

In the movie, the 50-year-old actress, who's also in the director and producer's chairs, plays a magazine editor who witnesses her son drop out of college to become a surfer. Upon learning his decision, she follows him to California where she meets a surf instructor played by Wilson.

Catching waves while acting, directing and producing can be a daunting task for any seasoned Hollywood vet but if anything's for certain, it's that Helen looks like she's up for the challenge!

The two-week extension on Amanda Bynes' involuntary psychiatric hold expires tonight, but her parents are hoping doctors will seek a legal ruling to keep the 27-year-old actress in the Hillmont Psychiatric Center for an additional 30 days.

“She's not improving yet. She's still delusional. These meds take longer than a week to work, and she's only been given them for about a week," the source told the NY Daily News. "She's not physically combative, but the doctors weren't forcing her to take her meds in the beginning. Then the doctors said she had to take them or they would force her, so she started."

A legal proceeding will reportedly take place behind closed doors before her scheduled release tonight, which would give doctors more time to make a case for a state temporary mental health conservatorship. This would put the state of California in charge of Bynes' medical care for the time being, but if a judge determines that a more permanent conservatorship is necessary, one of Amanda's parents could take over her affairs for at least a year.

"Her parents are hopeful this will happen. It would be unfortunate if it doesn't," the source added. However, if the involuntary hold is not extended, Bynes will walk out of Hillmont tonight, and oddly enough, she has asked her parents to take her back to the family home in Thousand Oaks. "She'd rather be out of the hospital, but she doesn't really have anywhere to go. She told her parents, 'Come pick me up,'" the insider added. Well, at least that's an improvement!

In a separate legal filing last month, Bynes' parents asked a judge to make the starlet's mother Lynn the conservator of her personal and financial affairs, but if the state pursues a doctor-recommended conservatorship, Amanda's parents are expected to ask the probate judge to suspend their civil proceeding. Either way, both Amanda and her parents are expected to appear at the Oxnard Courthouse on Friday at 9am for that matter.

The film, which is also directed by Matt and George, is comprised of an A-list cast including Bill Murray, John Goodman, Jean Dujardin, Bob Balaban, Hugh Bonneville and Cate Blanchett.

In a interview with USA Today, Clooney recently talked about his and his co-screenwriter Grant Heslov's desire to do this film, "Grant and I were looking to do a film that was less cynical than a lot of the films we do. We went into Sony and pitched it and got greenlit right there. The story was just so compelling.”

Well we know two things that are compelling us to want to see this movie and that's Matt and George!
