After his five-year-old son nearly drowned in Atlanta on Monday, Usher is finally speaking out about incident, thanking hospital staffers and his family and friends.

Usher said in a statement:

"I am blessed and fortunate to say that my son Usher V is doing well and is recovering. I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of prayers, love and support for my family's well-being. I would like to thank my Aunt Rena as well as the doctors and nurses who are working with us around the clock. I would especially like to thank the two men who saved my son's life, Eugene Stachurski and Ben Crews. They are true heroes and I am deeply grateful to them."

According to reports, Usher's son attempted to get a toy from the pool drain but his arm got stuck, and when his aunt and a maid weren't able to free him, two male employees finally came to the rescue and pulled him to the surface.

The day after the scare, Usher's ex-wife, Tameka Foster, filed legal documents in Fulton County, Georgia asking for an emergency custody hearing. Foster is demanding custody of their two boys, claiming that Usher is allowing unfit people to care for their children, thus creating an unsafe environment. The hearing will take place on Friday, August 9.

The 27-year-old singer appears in their promotional video on Kickstarter, and while she starts out fully clothed, she ends up taking it all off in the bizarre two-minute video. "Last week at a three-day retreat in upstate New York, Marina instructed Lady Gaga in the Abramovic Method -- a series of exercises designed to heighten participants' awareness of their physical and mental experience in the present moment," the organization wrote in the clip's Vimeo caption. "Marina Abramovic Institute (MAI) will be the first space dedicated to practicing the Abramovic Method, which prepares participants to both perform and observe long durational work."

Lady Gaga is no stranger to appearing nude in videos and photos, but we must admit, seeing her bent over naked in the woods and then naked on top of a giant crystal is a bit odd. What will she do next?

Beyonce Knowles decided to ditch her hair extensions in favor of a short blonde cropped haircut, and we have to say she looks much better without all the fake hair!

The singer posted a series of photos to her Instagram account, but offered no explanation for the tress makeover.

"I'm still always doing something to my hair - cutting layers, or bleaching it, or taking it upon myself to copy fashionable hairstyles without knowing the necessary techniques. A couple of weeks ago, I cut my own bangs and put highlights in the front. When my stylist saw me, she was like, 'What did you do?!' I did a pretty good job, but she still had to fix it. We're always joking that I'm a frustrated hairdresser," she explained to Elle in 2010.

Simon Cowell is reportedly giving baby mama Lauren Silverman his $15 million Beverly Hills mansion once she divorces her husband Andrew, according to The Daily Mirror.

A source tells the U.K. tabloid:

"Simon has amassed a lot of houses with his fortune and will want to provide for his child. But he seems to give away a house every time he splits from a girlfriend, so he is getting through them more quickly than he thought. He has instructed his advisers to let Lauren have the house, which means she can be nearby but crucially not too close so he can get on with his work and usual lifestyle."

The Mirror reports it is his 7,265 square-foot home in the gated Trousdale estate section of Beverly Hills. The mansion has four bedrooms, ocean views, a movie theater and a swimming pool. The source added, “Simon has lots of housing in Beverly Hills all close to each other and now lots of it contain his exes. He doesn’t seem to mind that he could bump into them at any time, but the rate he is going he may need to buy some more.”

Lauren will reportedly get several million dollars in her divorce settlement from Andrew, but the two still have to work out a custody agreement for their son Adam.

Where will Simon be shacking up? As far as we can tell, he'll be staying at his nearly 10,000-square-foot mansion in the 90210, which he bought in 2004 for $8 million and completely gutted.

Orlando Bloom attended the Romeo and Juliet photo call at the Richard Rodgers Theater on Wednesday evening in New York City, and the 36-year-old actor wore a pair of leather pants with a button down shirt and sweater. Apparently Orlando's Romeo is a biker in the modern stage adaptation of the Shakespearean tragedy, so it makes a bit more sense that he'd roll up on a motorcycle.

“I’m enjoying working on the language — Shakespeare text gives you that feeling, connection,” Orly told New York's local CBS affiliate. “I feel like I’ll be different by the end of this.”

The previews for Romeo and Juliet start on August 24, and the opening night is September 19.

Paul Schrader, who directed Lindsay Lohan in The Canyons, has spoken out about why the starlet didn't attend the film's Los Angeles premiere on Tuesday night, revealing that her recovery is the priority, not her promotional duties.

"She's decided not to be here because she's worried coming out of rehab [and] hanging out in L.A. for the weekend," Schrader told the audience in a speech before the screening. "She has been on this Adderall for about five years. It makes her speedy so she has to cut that with vodka. Now you're dealing with a speedball."

"People do want to hire her," he later told People, noting that Lohan lives in a "crisis atmosphere ... Everything's a crisis. And when it isn't a crisis, she finds a way to make it one."

"A lot of it's up to her," Schrader continued. "If she can create a reputation of reliability, and that's her number one problem, she will have a career because people do … like her."
