The Special Envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees set aside her own health troubles to visit Syrian refugees at the Jordan border yesterday. Angelina told the UNHCR office that the embarked on the trip "to show support for Syria's refugees, to call on the world to address their plight, and to better understand needs in Jordan and other countries in the region most directly affected by this devastating conflict."

The actress-turned-activist described the conflict as "the worst humanitarian crisis of the 21st century." The war in Syria has forced 1.6 million people to flee the country in the last year.

She also stressed the importance of political action. "The international response to this crisis falls short of the vast scale of this human tragedy," she said. "Much more humanitarian aid is needed, and above all, a political settlement to this conflict must be found."

Meanwhile, her fiance Brad Pitt is promoting his new apocalyptic flick World War Z. He told red carpet reporters that Angie had "to go across the world for [World] Refugee Day" during the film's New York City premiere.

He also defended Angie's decision to undergo a preventative double mastectomy after breast cancer survivor Melissa Etheridge challenged the Tomb Raider star's choice. "I wouldn't call it the brave choice," Melissa told the Washington Blade on Monday. "I actually think it's the most fearful choice you can make when confronting anything with cancer."

Melissa clarified her controversial remarks today, telling Us Weekly "I don't have any opinion on what she 'should have' done. All are free to choose. I only objected to the term 'brave' in describing it."

Brad, who's old friends with Melissa, told Us that he will talk over the issue with the country rocker. "I'm sure we'll talk on the phone," Brad told the mag. "I think that it's an individual decision and I found it very empowering instead of scary. We experienced the exact opposite."

Justin Bieber and his entourage took a G4 jet to Las Vegas on Wednesday, and this is less than 48 hours after he narrowly escaped being slapped with hit-and-run charges for injuring a photographer on Sunset Blvd.

Lil' Twist's friend got out of the car, approached the photographer, and told him, "Stop filming. Put the camera down, he doesn't want to be filmed." It's not like he's The Biebs for goodness sake!

Lil' Twist needs a reminder that he's nothing more than a friend of someone famous!

Rita performed at the launch of the new Xperia Access phone at Sony Music's London headquarters yesterday. The "Hot Right Now" singer wore two different revealing, red patent leather dresses for the occasion.

Rita told the small crowd that she feels fortunate to be working on her second studio album after releasing her debut a year ago.

"This past year has been the most surreal part of my life since I've been alive," she said. "But it's pretty awesome and I'm so excited that I get to do a second album."

After the show, Rita stepped it up another notch in a Natalia Kaut bustier dress for the press photocall. Calvin Harris' girlfriend looked smokin' in the curve-hugging outfit, which she paired with black strappy sandals, gold jewelery, and red makeup.

She donned a completely different getup -- a green and gold silk print shirt dress -- while leaving the studio later that day.

If she's upset, she's certainly not showing it!

Selma Blair headed to an office building this morning on the heels of the announcement that she's been fired from her role on Anger Management, and the actress kept it classy by simply giving a smile and a wave when asked about her dismissal and reported feud with co-star Charlie Sheen.
