Apparently Kelly Preston left her partying ways behind after becoming a parent!

The Jerry Maguire star recently taped a segment for Lifetime's The Conversation With Amanda de Cadenet and revealed she got sober to be a better mother.

"With drinking, I just decided that I wasn't at my best. There were times where I drank too much, for sure," she explained of her decision to give up alcohol.

The 49-year-old mother of three has gotten wiser over the years, but back in the day she pushed the limit of excess. "Im so different, too. Now I don't drink anymore. I don't smoke anymore. I don't do drugs anymore. All of those come with an 'anymore.' I used to do everything and a lot of everything."

The actress has been through her share of hardship, so we commend her for finding the strength to persevere. Her eldest son Jett died from a seizure in January 2009, and she is currently dealing with her husband John Travolta's sexual harassment controversy.

The Grease actor is accused of inappropriate behavior with numerous male masseuses, but the allegations have yet to be proven accurate.

Her interview with de Cadenet was recorded before the scandal erupted.

George Clooney pulled out all the stops to host a $40K a plate dinner for President Barack Obama, and 150 of his A-list celebrity friends, at his Hollywood home on Thursday evening.

The lavish dinner was catered by Wolfgang Puck himself, and is expected to raise up to $15 million in donations for Obama's campaign, which officially makes this one of the biggest presidential fundraisers in US history, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

After dinner the Prez gave a speech, and revealed that his famed Hope poster from the 2008 campaign was actually inspired by a photograph of Obama sitting next to Clooney, when he was a U.S. senator.

“This is the first time that George Clooney has ever been photo-shopped out of a picture. Never happened before, never happen again,” Obama confessed.

The $40,000 dinner included an artichoke salad followed by roasted duckling “Peking style” with tiny buns, a duo of lamb and beef cheek with potatoes and Brussels sprouts, and sweet corn tortelloni.

Robert Downey Jr., Barbra Streisand, Tobey Maguire, Eddie Murphy, Jack Black, Billy Crystal, Herb Alpert, Salma Hayek and Clooney's ladylove, Stacy Keibler were just a few of the notable guests in attendance.

The President also thanked the Oscar winner for his support, saying, "We raised a lot of money because people love George. They like me; they love George. He seems to occupy a constant state of grace, and uses his extraordinary talents on behalf of something truly important.”

After dinner, Obama traveled to Beverly Hills to spend the night and is set to fly to Reno, Nev., in the morning to address residents on mortgage reform, and on Monday he will head to NYC for an event jointly sponsored by Latino and gay supporters.

Reese Witherspoon's mother, Mary Elizabeth, has taken legal action against her father John in Tennessee, for committing bigamy by taking a new wife while still married to her.

John, 70, married 60-year-old Tricianne Taylor in a "country-themed" wedding in January, according to a certificate of marriage attached to the legal papers, and the Oscar winner's mom has filed a petition for annulment, stating in her affidavit:

"No person in Tennessee can marry another while being married at the same time of the second marriage. I love my husband and I don't want a divorce. We have been married 42 years. He needs help. He has a problem with alcohol. He also has a problem with hoarding, which led to our separation in 1996."

Mrs. Witherspoon also stated that they have lived in separate households since 2003, and John, an ear-nose-and-throat specialist, was recently "let go" from the medical practice due to personal problems, including depression.

Apparently the retired nurse and university professor found out about her husband's marriage from a wedding announcement in the local newspaper and, "When I confronted my husband, he said he didn't know who Tricianne Taylor was and that he did not remember getting married," she says in the affidavit.

John attempted to bring Taylor to Reese's wedding to Jim Toth last April, but security would not let her in because she was not on the guest list, according to the affidavit.

Mrs. Witherspoon is also worried her husband's new wife will attempt to "transfer marital assets" and that she tried contacting the woman but she refused to talk to her.

"I wrote her a letter stating that John Witherspoon was married and had two children and four grandchildren. I have had no response. But she clearly knows now that she is married to a man who is not divorced," she confessed.

The Witherspoons appeared to be a happy family when Reese received her star on The Walk of Fame on December 2, 2010, with her mom and dad sitting together, alongside Jim Toth.
