The trailer for Sparkle debuted today, giving fans a look at Whitney Houston's final film performance in the Supremes-inspired remake.

The late singer returned to the big screen after a 16-year hiatus to play the mother of three girls trying to make it big in the music industry. Jordin Sparks, Cee Lo Green, Mike Epps, Derek Luke, Tika Sumpter and Amari Hardwick co-star in the movie set to hit theaters this summer.

This was intended to be a comeback role for Houston, who died Feb. 11.

Sparkle arrives in theaters on August 17.

Patricia Arquette became camera shy as the actress did her best cover-up after having lunch with a mystery dread-locked man on Sunday.

The Meduim star was caught on video leaving Joan's on Third walking through traffic and smoking a cigarette while covering her face with a takeout bag as she spotted cameras following her lunch date. Talk about multi-tasking!

Arquette finished shooting Girl In Progress with Eva Mendes and will also star in the Roman Coppola-directed film A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III alongside Charlie Sheen and Bill Murray, both set to hit theaters later this year.

With all that filming going on, we could see why she didn't want to share any face time with another camera during her off hours!

The Scream actor is well aware he hit the genetic lottery by having children with the J. Edgar actress too! He explains: "Typically would Naomi Watts be out of my grasp? Absolutely. What stupid pills she took seven years ago, I don't know. Oddly enough we have a lot in common. We grew up in similar ways. The other thing, it turns out that genetically we make exquisitely beautiful children."

The eco-friendly pair picked out some fruits and veggies before opting to bike home while towing their tots in a special kid carrier.

Mel Gibson took his darling daughter Lucia on a carousel ride at the pier in Santa Monica over the weekend, and the 2-and-a-half-year-old appeared to be having a blast on the merry-go-round. Mom Oksana Grigorieva was nowhere in sight, so Mel was in a pretty good mood too!

Lucia is Mel's eighth and youngest child -- he has one daughter and six sons with ex-wife Robyn Moore, so he certainly has plenty of parenting experience!

Adam Sandler's latest comedy, Jack & Jill, broke a new record at the Razzies, winning 10 of the 12 awards for which it was nominated, including worst picture, worst actor and actress, worst supporting actress and worst screen ensemble.

The previous record holder was 2007's I Know Who Killed Me, starring Lindsay Lohan, which won eight Razzies, including two for starlet, who played twins. "It's not really a clean sweep," Razzies founder John Wilson tells People, noting that the 12 nominations for the movie included more than one in the supporting acting categories. "So it will go into the record books with an asterisk."

While the film didn't do so well with the adult audience, Sandler fared a bit better at the 25th annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday, taking home the prize for Favorite Movie Actor for his role(s) in the film.

Alec Baldwin is engaged to yoga instructor Hilaria Thomas, a rep for the 30 Rock actor has confirmed.

"Yes, it's true!" Baldwin's rep tells Us Weekly. "Alec proposed to Hilaria this weekend and we're all excited for the newly engaged couple. Alec's birthday is tomorrow. Great way to celebrate!"

Alec, who turns 54 on Tuesday, has been dating Thomas, 28, for a little less than a year, and he recently sold his Upper West Side apartment to move in with his ladylove in downtown NYC.

Baldwin was previously married to Kim Basinger for nine years (the couple split in 2002), and they have a daughter, Ireland, 16. Wonder if the Capitol One spokesman has plans for any more children?
