Jesse Metcalfe is about to make one very lucky lady a not-so-Desperate Housewife!

The 33-year-old actor has just become engaged to girlfriend, model/actress Cara Santana, Us Weekly reports.

A source tells the mag that the pair "have been dating for four to five years and living together for at least three."

Meanwhile, Metcalfe is currently hard at work filming the updated version of the hit 80's classic, Dallas, in which he will play Christopher Ewing -- the adopted son of Bobby Ewing -- in a TV movie airing this summer.

Last week, the actor shared a Twitpic with the caption: 'Takin' a private jet with my honey and the dallas [soc] cast for a press weekend in LA."

Brad Pitt arrived at the Screen Actors Guild in Hollywood this afternoon for a Moneyball Q & A session, and rather than rushing in to the panel, the 48-year-old actor signed autographs and posed for photos with fans camped outside.

Brad is still recovering from his knee injury, and at the 69th Annual Golden Globes last night, pal George Clooney poked fun at him after seemingly stealing his cane during the ceremony.

George, who was onstage to present a clip from Moneyball, told the audience, "I have to give it back to him....He can't make it to the bar otherwise." Of course, George made nice later and thanked Brad during his own acceptance speech. "I wanted to say it's nice to see Brad, and it's nice to be able to tell him not just what wonderful work he's doing in two films this year," George said. "But what wonderful work he does in the rest of the world to the rest of the people."

After two years together (not to mention getting their names tattooed on one another), Avril Lavigne and Brody Jenner have split.

"They decided to end their relationship," an insider dished to Life & Style. "It wasn't working out, and they wanted to go their separate ways." Another source tells the mag, "She wanted to settle down, but he wasn't exactly ready. They had been having problems starting in the summer with her tour because she was on the road all the time. It put a strain on their relationship."

Of course, a source for Us Magazine seems to suggest that Avril was to blame for the split, noting that Brody "felt held back by his girlfriend." The source said, "Every time he wanted to come back and take meetings to get his career back in order, she would make him go to Asia and Europe. He hasn't worked and he wants to. They were both unhappy because he wants to have his career, she wants him to stay with her." Apparently Avril vetoed multiple TV show offers Brody recently received, but there's still a chance the two could reconcile. "Brody is trying to set the ground rules and wants to be able to work," the source revealed. "They have to find a balance."

Avril began dating Brody just a few months aafter she split from then-husband Deryck Whibley, and rumors began to circulate that Avril and Brody were dunzo when she was spotted dining with Deryck in December. The last time we spotted Avril and Brody together was in November of 2011, after a bar brawl that resulted in the petite Canadian singer getting punched in the face.

Before putting on her gorgeous red gown for the Golden Globes, Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon ran errands in Beverly Hills looking casually cute in a black puffer vest.

With her blonde tresses flowing and sporting shades, the sexy mama of two didn't have a care in the world as she made her way to the car.

James Franco and a pal were spotted in Hollywood over the weekend, and it looks like he was having a bit of an off day. Of course, he's still a working actor, so that's gotta count for something! It was just announced that Franco is set to play controversial photographer Robert Mapplethorpe in an upcoming biopic, so it looks like he's snagged yet another meaty role.

Joan Rivers has put her lavish New York penthouse on sale for $29.5 million.

The 5,190 square-foot duplex pad has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a library, terrace and gorgeous views of Central Park.

Back in 2009, Rivers had listed the property for $25 million, but has since upped the asking price.

Jennifer Garner, Ben Affleck and Seraphina were spotted lunching at the Bel Air hotel over the weekend, and earlier in the day the expectant mom was snapped picking daughter Violet from ballet class.

When Jennifer chatted with Ellen DeGeneres last fall after learning that she was pregnant with baby number three, she revealed some hilarious details about her home life. Jen told Ellen, "You know how once you have kids you never ever pee by yourself again? At least one of them is always in there with you at all times. So the other day [Violet] is there with me and all of a sudden she went, 'Oh Mom, we have to have a talk...' She said, 'Mom, your bottom has gotten so big that your panties don't even begin to cover it.'"

Garner continued, "I said, 'It's called a thong. You wear it when you're a grown-up...' [and] she was like, 'Uh, that is so gross!'" Hmm, wonder how Ben feels about her choice in undergarments?

David Furnish is not a Madonna fan, and he proved it after going off on Madge following her Golden Globes win for her song "Masterpiece" from the movie W.E.

Elton John's hubby Tweeted, "Madonna. Best song???? F**k off!!!"

Furnish went on to write, "Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in it's narcissism. And her critisism of Gaga shows how desperate she really is."
