In shocking news of the day, Katherine Heigl is starring in a new romantic comedy!

But, the rom-com queen (she and Jennifer Aniston seem to be fighting over that title) is trying something a little bit different -- she attempts a New Jersey accent in the flick One For The Money, out in January.

Brad Pitt has been making heavy publicity rounds (sometimes to his detriment) for Moneyball, but The Huffington Post is reporting that there's one show he wouldn't stop by: Chelsea Lately.

Chelsea Handler is a good friend of Jennifer Aniston's, and famously made very anti-Angelina Jolie comments in December 2010. "She gives interviews, 'I don't have a lot of female friends,'" Handler said during a stand-up set. "Cause you're a f***ing c***."

"Chelsea would love to have had Brad on her show ... but Brad said 'no way.' ... If he’s still as good [of] friends with Jen as he says, then he would have done E! He’s full of it and Chelsea knows it. That’s why he wouldn’t talk with her, he doesn’t have the balls."

Moneyball took in about $20 million this last weekend -- its opening. Those numbers put it at the No. 2 spot, underneath the re-release of The Lion King.

In the vid, the first-ever American Idol winner confronts her insecurities -- headlines calling her overweight and alone.

Mariah Carey's back!

After taking a hiatus to care for her and hubby Nick Cannon's new twins, Moroccan Scott and Monroe, the singer is returning to her musical roots.

Mariah, 41, is so excited to get back to recording that she Tweeted a pic for her fans (above). "So happy to be back in the studio with the one & only @Mr_Dupri aka Jermash!" she wrote.

The new mom has worked with producer Jermaine Dupri for years, including making tunes for the last album she dropped, 2010's Merry Christmas II You. Dupri was equally excited to collab again, Tweeting, "ME AND MC IN THE STUDIO RIGHT NOW, (WE ARE BACK TOGETHER)."

Last Wednesday, Lindsay Lohan signed on to be the new face of German designer Philipp Plein's campaign - and it turns out that, when she signed on the dotted line, Lindsay hadn't met Plein or seen any of his clothes.

Lohan did a photo shoot for Plein in Italy on Saturday -- the first day she'd ever seen his designs. They met for the first time on Friday.

“Something important to know about this collection is that its expressing something a little bit more edgy,” Lindsay said, before admitting she hadn't met the designer until the weekend.

Work is work, we suppose!

Selena Gomez got into some monkey business this weekend!

The "Love You Like A Love Song" singer had a family-friendly Saturday, hanging out at the L.A. Zoo with her mom and stepdad, Mandy and Brian Teefey.

The trio checked out tons of exhibits, and Selena -- dressed in a gray striped sweater, burnout tee, gray leggings and motorcycle boots -- was enthusiastically pointing at a few amazing animals.

But her favorite? Clearly the monkeys. Halfway through the outing, Selena strapped a purple monkey doll to her neck -- and kept it there!
