Katie Holmes is back from taping one of Oprah's final shows in Chicago ... just in time to hit the red carpet at the Beauty Culture Event and exhibit in Century City for Annenberg Space Photography.

The exhibit "provides a seminal examination of photography's role in capturing and defining notions of modern female beauty and how these images profoundly influence our lives in both celebratory and disturbing way."

Whew ... now that we understand that, let's focus on Katie's beauty. Tom Cruise's wifey is wearing a Madewell dress with a Lanvin blazer. She is certainly the definition of modern female beauty! As for the exhibit, it will be open from May 21 to November 27.

Bono is working on securing a performance with his bandmate The Edge for the season finale episode of American Idol, according to Page Six.

The U2 frontman is reportedly asking to play a few of their songs from the musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. Bono is also negotiating for the play's stars to join him on stage.

An insider tells Page Six:

"They are talking to Fox about how it would work. Ideally, Bono and The Edge would perform and be joined onstage by the 'Spider-Man' cast. If everyone agrees, with millions watching, it could be great for the production."

The Spider-Man production has been plagued with drama ... including injuries to a few cast members during rehearsals. Find out when the play will open to the public ... after the jump.

David and Courteney prove their relationship status won't affect the family business, as they leave their production co., Coquette Productions, at the very same time on Thursday.

Cox's BFF Jennifer Aniston also shared a production company with her ex Brad Pitt, Plan B, but after the separation Jen decided to sever her ties with the company.

Earlier in the day, Cox and Arquette were reportedly seen leaving a counselor's office, which suggests they may still be working on repairing their marriage. The Friends star recently said of her ex: "We’re separated and David is sober now. We’re great, it’s kind of the best we have ever been.”

Whatever happens, it's nice to see the ex-pair can still work together as business partners, even if the marriage doesn't work out!

We can't wait to see how well Ashton meshes with the cast. The actor recently expressed he's not trying to "replace" Sheen's role, but says he'll, "work my a** off to entertain the hell out of people!".
