Jessica Simpson finally confirmed what we've been speculating for months: that she's been approached to join Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid at the X Factor judges' table.
“They have definitely talked to me about X Factor,†Simpson revealed to WWD. “I think it would be a lot of fun. It’s definitely my life. To be a mentor for up-and-coming artists is right up my alley. I would have loved to have a mentor. I love watching people’s dreams come true.â€Â
Jess wasn't saying whether or not she had actually accepted an offer, but we think she'd be perfect for the role! And why would she bring it up if she weren't seriously considering the position?
Of course, Simpson, who hasn't done much singing lately, doesn't really need it -- her fashion empire is expected to reach $1 billion in sales this year.
Other prospective judges mentioned for a seat at Simon's table are Nicki Minaj, Cheryl Cole, George Michael and Paula Abdul.

Kirstie Alley (with Jonathan Knight of NKOTB!) and the rest of her Dancing With the Stars competitors celebrated their second week of competition with a group dinner at Cleo last night after the big show.
Kirstie continued to wow in the competition, and not just with her dancing skills -- the 60-year-old laid an impromptu smack on her 31-year-old partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy at the end of her quickstep.
She didn't score quite as high as she did the previous week with her debut Cha Cha, but Kirstie feels confident she'll survive tonight's elimination to dance again next week.
"Next week Rumba..." Kirstie tweeted last night. "Better be hot or I'll stab myself in the vag."

Beyonce Knowles has confirmed that she will no longer be managed by her father, Mathew Knowles.
The Grammy-winning singer and her dad have parted ways "on a business level," and she released the following statement on the split:
"I am grateful for everything he has taught me. I grew up watching both he and my mother manage and own their own businesses. They were hard-working entrepreneurs and I will continue to follow in their footsteps."
Mathew Knowles has managed his daughter's career since the late 1990s, and he said in a separate statement to the Associated Press that the decision was mutual. It's still not clear what caused the two to end their professional relationship -- hopefully this doesn't affect their family life!
