Vanessa Hudgens arrived home in Los Angeles after a whirlwind trip to New York where she was promoting her new film, Beastly, a retelling of the classic Beauty and the Beast, which debuts today in theaters.
Hudgens, who revealed that she was listening to Adele on her iPod, looked exhausted, but happy, after making the rounds of the chat shows.
The former High School Musical star has been breaking out into a series of more adult roles with Beastly and now the upcoming Sucker Punch. She's also gotten a very adult tattoo, of a butterfly on her neck.
Hudgens told David Letterman Wednesday night, "It was very last minute, but I've actually wanted it for years. A butterfly landed on my mom's stomach a week before I was born and that's how I got my name, because Vanessa means butterfly - it's a Latin derivative. It's my very first tattoo, and I kind of feel like a badass now!â€Â
But the tattoo is not the only "adult" thing Hudgens indulged in since her Disney days...

Things are heating up between the 50-year-old Oscar winner and the recently divorced 26-year-old starlet!
After being spotted playing footsie during a lunch earlier this week, Sean and Scarlett had a romantic dinner date at LA's Chateau Marmont, where the couple were locked in an "intimate" conversation at the famed Hollywood hotel.
The seemingly strange duo apparently hooked up back in January, when Scarlett was shooting We Bought A Zoo with Matt Damon.
Penn is also reportedly planning on bringing his new ladylove with him on his next trip to Haiti ... along with Charlie Sheen! That should be quite a threesome!
Sean isn't the only much-older man Johansson has allegedly hooked up with in the past...

Courtney Love is finalizing a settlement to pay $430,000 to a fashion designer who claims Love defamed her on the micro-blogging site Twitter.
Dawn Simorangkir (aka the “Boudior Queenâ€Â) sued Love after Courtney posted a series of nasty tweets (in one Courtney called her an “@sswipe nasty lying hosebag thiefâ€Â) claiming the allegedly defamatory rants ruined her business.
The case was being closely watched for being one of the first of its kind, over what constitutes defamation on Twitter.
Courtney, who avoided a scheduled trial in January, claimed that her tweets were just a form of personal expression and not defamation, but due to Love's celebrity and enormous number of followers, Simorangkir thought she has a case.
"The amount of the settlement says it all," Simorangkir's attorney told THR. “Her reprehensible defamatory comments were completely false and $430,000 is quite a significant way to say I am sorry. One would hope that, given this disaster, restraint of pen, tongue and tweet would guide Ms. Love’s future conduct.â€Â
But Court's attorney thinks the designer won bragging rights, and not much else. "Because of the extended payout it's a modest settlement," he said.
So will Courtney watch her tongue on Twitter in the future? Well...

It sounds like Demi Lovato will not be retuning to Disney Channel's Sonny With A Chance for season three.
The network has just changed the show's titled to So Random as it begins its third season, which will be focusing on the show within a show.
Lovato, who was released from an Illinois rehab center in January after completing a 90-day in-patient treatment, may not be ready to return back to work just yet. Her co-star Brandon Mychal Smith revealed to ClevverTV.com:
"With a show like ours, and any great show that I’ve seen in the past, like The Wire or Seinfeld, each season you focus on a different concept, a different theory, or maybe a different character’s background. Season one we established who we were  you saw some mini sketches, you saw who the character were and how they mingled and intertwined. Season two you were able to see more of the relationship between Sonny and Chad and how they got into it and how we didn’t like it, and you saw some of Mackenzie Falls and that aspect. And now this season you’ll be able to see So Random, see why we are where we are today in regards to being the teen idols that we are. You’ll be able to see how we bring the funny every week."
Sounds like Disney is making some major changes to season three. But can the show survive without its leading lady?
Willow and Jaden Smith (along with their famous folks, Will and Jada) left their hotel in Birmingham today and headed to the stadium where they'll help Justin Bieber kick off his European tour.
Wearing a Gucci bag, tie-dye pants and bright red boots, Willow looked excited be performing in front of a sold-out crowd.
10-year-old Willow, who scored a huge hit with "Whip My Hair", is set to be the Biebs opening act. Jaden joined the superstar for "Never Say Never", and even though his appearance hasn't been announced, we can bet he'll be stepping out on the stage tonight!
Willow, who just released her second single, “21st Century Girlâ€Â, has said that she wants to be a HUGE star.
“I would like to be a very well-known artist," she said in a recent interview. "I would like to be as big as Lady Gaga. I would like to be bigger … I’d like to be a big rock star."
The Smiths were recently criticized by author Terry McMillan for "pimping" out their kids. The How Stella Got Her Groove Back author tweeted, "The Smith children already act like child stars. There’s an audacity in their appearance and behavior. we find it impossibly sad. It feels like a Smith children are being pimped and exploited. Or, they’re already inspired for fame. What about fourth grade?"

Lady Gaga got very emotional last night in Toronto while singing her new hit single "Born This Way" with 10-year-old YouTube sensation, Maria Aragon.
Gaga made good on her promise to invite the precocious girl up on stage, and put Aragon on her lap for the moving duet in which they both sang and played the piano.
Gaga teared up during the stripped-down version, which left many fans just as weepy. After the song was over, Gaga hugged little Aragon as the crowd burst into applause.
