And it's all because Rihanna agreed to it!

Chris Brown appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom today for a progress report in his domestic violence case - stemming from the altercation between him and Rihanna on February 8, 2009 - and the judge reduced the 5-year restraining order that prevents Brown from seeing the "Umbrella" singer.

Per the request made by Rihanna's lawyer Donald Etra, the order has been modified to "level one," which means Brown is allowed to contact Rihanna, but is not allowed to "annoy, molest or harass" her.

Brown and his lawyer Mark Geragos made no comments to reporters after the hearing.

This will certainly make music award shows less awkward, but one has to wonder whether Rihanna truly wants her ex to contact her...

Yesterday Russell Brand was snapped leaving a coffee shop in Hollywood, and the comedian squeezed into a pair of super skinny black jeans and a neon tee. With wife Katy Perry on the road in Europe, what will Russell do for the next few weeks? “I am presenting an Oscar. I shall also choose the recipient. At last my work as Aldous Snow will be honoured, for best actor-ing," he tweeted.

Justin Timberlake has been working hard to make the transition from singer to actor over the past few years, but feels like his biggest struggle is trying to assure people that he's "not an a**hole!'

"There is a stigma that comes from being on stage and being a musician," the star told Amanda Seyfried during their chat for Interview magazine. "What’s been more of a battle for me throughout the process of moving into acting is that I feel like I have to keep reassuring people that I’m not an a**hole," Timberlake said.

Justin hasn't released an album since 2006's FutureSex/LoveSounds (although he's made several guest appearances on singles by other artists) but has worked steadily in films since then with parts in Black Snake Moan, The Love Guru, The Social Network and the upcoming movies The Bad Teacher, Friends With Benefits and Now.

But Justin is used to handling criticism. "Whatever you do as a musician, no matter how good it is, somebody somewhere is going to sh*t on it," he said. "You put your heart on your sleeve, and what will happen will happen."

But Timberlake says he's found a way to deal with it by just not focusing on the negative. "I actually find it liberating to give up control," he said to his younger co-star.

Although Justin is not nominated for his performance in The Social Network, the film is up for best picture, actor, director, adapted screenplay, cinematography, film editing, soundtrack and sound mixing.

And she can thank her growing baby boy for that!

Rachel Zoe, who's due with her first child in April, has been able to keep her belly under wraps for the most part -- until now!

The 8-months pregnant fashion stylist looked no less chic wearing thigh-high platform boots and a long fur vest while visiting a doctor's office in Beverly Hills yesterday.

And it doesn't seem that Zoe is letting her pregnancy slow her down at all. Rachel is dressing Anne Hathaway for this Sunday's Oscar ceremony, and since Hathaway is the co-host, we can expect lots of fab fashion changes during the telecast!

Anne already earned rave reviews for the Armani Prive dress that Zoe put her in for the Golden Globes. We can only imagine what Zoe will do to top that sparkly gold backless gown!

Many New York celebs ventured out to the Lady Gaga concert at Madison Square Garden last night, including the stunning Michelle Pfeiffer - who looked like she had a blast! - her hubby David E. Kelley and Weir.

HBO is filming a concert doc of Gaga's Monster Ball Tour (of last night's and tonight's MSG performances) to be released on May 7th.

Bridget Moynahan, who has a 3 1/2 year-old son named John Edward with ex Tom Brady, graces the cover of More Magazine's March issue and breaks her silence about Brady's wife Gisele Bündchen:

"I never made a comment about Gisele or Tom publicly. I have a relationship with these people on a daily basis. My son has two loving parents and an extended family, whether it's cousins or stepmothers or boyfriends. My son is surrounded by love."

Well said, Bridget! The single mom also admits that Tom "was not in the [delivery] room. He certainly wasn't holding my hand while I pushed."

Moynahan, who's dating director McG, also insists: "There's not a second I regret having a child on my own."

L'Officiel

Beyonce is posing as an African Queen in the March issue of L'Officiel, and the photos of the singer with a visibly darker face, have raised a few eyebrows.

The French magazine released the following statement:

"Far from the glamorous Sasha Fierce, the beauty posed for the magazine with amazing fashion designers' clothes but also in a dress created by her mother. [It's] a return to her African roots … on which her face was voluntarily darkened."

L'Officiel, currently celebrating 90 years in the business, claims to be paying tribute to Fela Kuti, the late Nigerian musician and human rights activist.
