Laura Dern flashed a small smile as she got into her car after a meeting at the Four Seasons yesterday.

Clad completely in black (in mourning for her marriage?), Dern's expression quickly changed to more somber as soon as she got into the car:




Laura and her husband of four years, Ben Harper, separated on New Year's day, but Dern was apparently blindsided by the divorce papers that were served just last week. And to add insult to injury, Harper doesn't want to pay Laura any spousal support.

The couple has two children, Ellery, 9, and Jaya, 5.

The media has been scrutinizing their relationship from the get-go, but against all odds, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are still going strong!

Pitt put filming Moneyball on pause to pay Jolie a visit overseas in Budapest, Hungary, where the actress is directing a love story set during the Bosnian War. Don't they look like a perfectly happy twosome? But this was not always the case...
