Multiple reports claim that Paris Hilton was detained by airport immigration officials in Japan for six hours ... questioned over her recent cocaine bust in Las Vegas.

Immigration authorities have ordered the heiress, who traveled with her sister Nicky, to stay at a hotel airport while they conduct their investigation. Until then, Hilton is not allowed to officially enter the country.

X17online received this statement from Paris' rep:

"Paris Hilton was delayed by immigration authorities at a Japanese airport this evening after arriving for business obligations planned many months earlier. Paris was contractually bound to her business trip and didn't want to let down her brands and many Asian fans. She intended on fulfilling her contract and is trying hard to do the responsible thing, but this is beyond her control. She is very disappointed by tonight's events."

Now that this drama has unfolded, Miss Hilton is considering a possible return to the US to avoid further conflict. Her scheduled events in Japan have now been canceled.

Just yesterday, Paris had tweeted that she couldn't wait to "debut [her] Fall/Winter Collections" in Tokyo on Wednesday.

Mel Gibson has admitted to his baby mama, Oksana Grigorieva, that he is a "f**cking failure," according to TMZ.

Back on March 1, two months after their domestic situation, Gibson emailed Grigorieva from his iPhone the following message:

"I really am losing my grip. I desperately need a solution. Sorry it has to affect you. I can't stand anything any more ... I'm stuck. I try to be ok but it overpowers me & i'm (sic) something I don't want to be. It's a primal scream thing. The pain is too great & everywhere I turn is making it heavier. Oh to have peace! Oh to have joy. Oh to be able to provide it for another. I'm a f**king failure."

Mel continued to send messages, the next being on March 7. He writes:

"I felt a high degree of agitation in you when u left tonight. I'm sorry. I guess I'm in a process of being torn down so I can rebuild. I love you ... I was terrified of where we were going & my outbursts & the potential for damage."

In a final iPhone message on January 6, Mel asks:

"How's your tooth? I want to tell you how uspeakably (sic) sorry I am."

Various reports had claimed that Mel had punched out two of Oksana's teeth during their domestic incident. Gibson's camp had denied those claims.
