MTV VMA host Chelsea Handler wants to play peace-maker between Taylor Swift and Kanye West during the awards show next month.

"I'd like to get them together," Chelsea Handler told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show yesterday. "We've never really seen them together since then. They were supposed to be together on SNL, but then that didn't end up happening."

Kanye made what was the biggest blunder of his career to date when he robbed the first time VMA winner of her moment at the 2009 show, stealing the mic from Swift to proclaim "Beyonce had the best video of all time!" (Swift's "You Belong With Me" beat out Beyonce's "Single Ladies" for best female video.)

So will they reunite on the VMA stage? If anyone could do it, Chelsea could!

Heidi Montag filed for divorce back on July 30 citing irreconcilable differences, and now Spencer Pratt has filed his own divorce papers, as well. The docs, signed by Pratt on August 13, were filed at the Santa Monica courthouse.

Montag's lawyer, Jodeane Farrell, confirms the progress saying:

"Spencer has acknowledged that the divorce is going forward."

Since the papers were signed on the 13th, the divorce will be finalized six months later ... which would be Valentine's Day of next year.

Spencer, 27, is currently writing a tell-all book about their relationship, the reality show experiences and even Heidi's upbringing. Heidi, reportedly, is weighing her legal options .... hoping to stop its release.

Pratt dished about the book telling Us, "My last book, How to be Famous, didn't make the New York Times best-seller list because it was in the self-help section. This one will be totally different, I'm not holding anything back.'

Are these more attempts by the reality couple to stay in the headlines? Time will tell.
