First there were racist rants and restraining orders, and now the police are getting in the middle of the latest drama between Mel Gibson and ex-girlfriend/babymama Oksana Grigorieva.

The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department released the following statement today:

"An investigation of domestic violence was launched by Malibu/Lost Hills station detectives involving actor Mel Gibson and his former girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva. The detective in charge of the investigation is currently gathering information regarding the allegations. Due to the investigation being preliminary in nature, no other information is available at this time."

The statement is regarding an incident that occurred between the couple on January 6, 2010 where Grigorieva claims Gibson punched her in the face "more than once," though sources close to Gibson have denied the allegation, claiming Mel simply was trying to stop Grigorieva from shaking their infant daughter Lucia.

Soccer hottie Cristiano Ronaldo hit up Mediterranean restaurant Kenmare in New York City to grab a bite with friends ... and his lady love.

It was just earlier this week that the Portuguese soccer stud revealed he's a new daddy to son, Cristiano. However, the baby mama has yet to be announced. Our spies from inside Kenmare tell X17online that Cristiano, 25, met up with his girlfriend, Russian model Irina Shayk, inside the restaurant. Is she the mommy? Hmmm.

The two arrived at the eatery separately. Sneaky, sneaky. However, Ronaldo was wearing one of his signature form-fitting shirts.

Drew Barrymore is showing off her luscious curves on the cover of Elle's August issue.

The actress, 35, is opening up to the mag about the pressures of aging while in the biz. She admits:

“I don’t want to be vain or fearful, and I don’t think I’ll do anything [in terms of plastic surgery], but if I want to do something, I will. From my perspective, there’s no reason to be afraid of aging, because if you age, you’re lucky! The alternative is death.”

Way to keep it real, Drew! We think you look incredible.

Lindsay Lohan's attorney Shawn Chapman Holley has just resigned, and TMZ reports that Tiffany Feder-Cohen, who was just admitted to the bar in November will now be representing the actress.

Back in October of 2009, Lindsay's longtime legal rep Blair Berk dropped the starlet and referred her to Holley, so this is definitely a recurring pattern.

Lindsay was sentenced to 90 days in jail on Tuesday, and though she's not likely to serve the full sentence, it doesn't seem like she's going to be able to weasel her way out of it! Especially after calling Judge Marsha Revel a "f*cking b*tch"...

Shawn Chapman Holley, Lindsay Lohan's lawyer, is breaking her silence regarding Judge Marsha Revel's verdict against her client. Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in jail and 90 days in rehab for violating her probation.

In a statement released to X17online, Holley says:

“Ms. Lohan and I are extremely disappointed in the sentence handed down by Judge Revel. We believe that the penalty is far harsher than what others would have received under similar circumstances. The reality is that Ms. Lohan, like most defendants, had to balance work commitments with court requirements. To be punished so severely for doing so, particularly in light of the fact that she substantially complied with each of her probationary conditions, is harsh and unfair. That said, Ms. Lohan is prepared to serve her jail time and to comply with the Court's orders."

As for Lindsay's oh-so-obvious nails written with "F**k U" on them, Holley explains it this way:

“With respect to Ms. Lohan's nails, the fact is, the words could barely be seen by the naked eye. That a courtroom camera, purportedly there to accurately chronicle the proceedings, would use a telephoto lens to zoom in as it did to Ms. Lohan's fingernail is a commentary on the entire issue."

Actions speak louder than words. However, in this case, the words on her nails are pretty loud.

Michael Lohan is ready to fight for his daughter, Lindsay. He says his top priority will be to shut down Right On Programs in Glendale, California ... now that his "efforts to get Lindsay into a detox/rehab now, are exhausted." As Judge Marsha Revel pointed out in court ... Lindsay missed seven alcohol education classes.

Lohan then addresses Dina's involvement telling X17online exclusively:

Maybe if Dina would FINALLY listen to me and do the right thing, instead of ripping off Fudgie the Whale cakes from Carvel ... and making deals with the devil [tabloid outlet]. ALL of this would not have happened. The cancer needs to be cut out, so others don't fall victim to the same, and whether I do it now, or when Lindsay is away, by GOD, I will do it!

Judge Marsha Revel sentenced Lindsay Lohan to 90 days in jail beginning July 20, as the 24-year-old actress was found to be in violation of probation stemming from her back to back DUI arrests in 2007.

From GOOP creator to cookbook writer!

Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow talks to (and cooks with) Vogue's Jeffrey Steingarten about her latest endeavor - a cookbook, entitled My Father's Daughter, featuring an array of healthy food recipes as well as delicious eats like french fries and pizza. Who knew Gwyn even ate that stuff!

It's refreshing to read Steingarten refer to the sometimes-criticized Paltrow as nice and sweet - she "immediately put me at ease," he notes - but still points out that her kitchen is super-clean: "Gwyneth admitted to being a neat freak, as her father was."

Additionally, Steingarten calls Gwyn "considerably more beautiful in the flesh than in pictures... a bit taller and svelter and better muscled than you would think," he writes, with an "enviably flat stomach."
