We're not sure if it's something Brody Jenner is doing to her or the fact that she just picked up some goodies at Betsey Johnson (gratis, no doubt), but Avril Lavigne was on cloud nine yesterday afternoon when we caught her leaving the WeHo store.

The starlet isn't known for being particularly friendly, and while we're not loving the shlumpy outfit, that smile definitely looks good on her pretty face!

And it's pretty atrosh! Sarah Palin's daughter, Bristol Palin, is not only the spokesperson for abstinence - still haven't figured that one out yet - she now wants to be an "actress."

Katherine Jackson is talking candidly to NBC's Dateline about how her son, Michael, feared for his own life. The 80-year-old matriarch reveals:

"He told me several times that he felt that people wanted him gone, wanted him dead. He would always say that. For him to say that, he must have known something. Some of the mean, vicious people didn't want him around for some reason. They're greedy."

Jackson, who is the legal guardian of Michael's three children, also recalls the last time she saw her son alive ... one week before his death.

"We had a really good time together. I wanted to remember him smiling and laughing and having a good time the last time I saw him."

The Dateline special, Michael Jackson: A Mother's Love, airs tomorrow on the one-year anniversary of the King of Pop's death.

Last night Lindsay Lohan went to Las Palmas in Hollywood around 11:45pm, and while she was inside the club, she tweeted, "Its invasion of privacy when paparrazzi not only attack u outside of places- BUT THEN FOLLOW YOU IN w/a different Shirt and hat!!!"

In her defense, Lindsay was swarmed by paparazzi upon her arrival, but isn't it a bit silly to suggest that a photographer went into the club to follow her around? I mean, Las Palmas is currently one of the hottest Wednesday night spots -- we can't imagine they'd let some random dude in! Maybe he bought a bottle? Even then, we have a VERY hard time believing Lindsay, given the fact that some of the things she's tweeted in the past aren't entirely accurate.

Lindsay left around 1:30am and headed home, presumably to help Ali with her homework.

Venus Embrace threw Khloe Kardashian an early 26th birthday bash at her home in Los Angeles yesterday (her real birthday is this Sunday), and not only did she get a ton of free goodies, but she even got a razor shaped cake! How sweet!

An onlooker tells X17, “Khloe was in a great mood at the party, and she looked amazing when she showed off her legs at the pool." Sounds like Lamar is a lucky man!

Brad Pitt is interested in making a movie about the BP Gulf Coast oil spill, according to NYDN.

The BP spill is the largest offshore spill in US history, and millions and millions of gallons of oil have been spilled to date. The spill began when a drilling rig exploded on April 20, 2010 and it has yet to be contained.

Pitt, who owns a home in New Orleans is rumored to be talking with execs about the project, but the main problem seems to be that there is no happy ending in sight. Maybe Brad or one of his fellow actor actor/activist pals like Leonardo DiCaprio or George Clooney can make it right?

No, we're not talking about K. Stew or Reese, we're talking about the real star of Water For Elephants -- yup, that would be the elephant himself. Rob was snapped on set yesterday, and the actor showed off his softer side during a break from filming, as he got all touchy feely with the pretty pachyderm.

In other strange R Pattz news, genealogists have discovered that the actor is distantly related to Vlad the Impaler (nee Dracula), the Transylvanian leader who was the inspiration for the main character in Bram Stoker’s vampire tale. Researchers at Ancestry.com have found a link between Pattinson and Vlad III Dracula through their relationship to the British royal family, and though very distant, Prince William and Prince Harry are cousins to the hunky Twilight star!

Last night a cheerful Jessica Simpson returned home from NYC, and she was kind enough to smile for photogs and sign several autographs before hopping into her car. Aww, we may give her crap from time to time about her outfits, but she does seem like one of the sweetest starlets out there! Why can't Vanessa Hudgens and Lilo be so generous?
