Newly single Halle Berry was spotted in the company of not one but two attractive young men yesterday in Beverly Hills -- the cops that escorted her from her salon to a parking garage across the street.

Wearing a LIV GRN t-shirt and short denim shorts, Halle demonstrated your tax dollars at work as she made the short walk across the public street.

I wonder if "escorting celebrities" is in the BHPD job description!

Bret Michaels is expected to recover from his recent setback involving a "small warning stroke," and hopefully will appear on the May 23 finale of NBC's The Celebrity Apprentice.

Dr. Zabramski, Bret's doctor, addressed the rocker's current condition saying:

"I realize Bret wants to make a full recovery so that he can be active with his family, attempt to attend the finale of Celebrity Apprentice and especially get back on the road to continue making music. Without a doubt he is very determined to get healthy and make a 100% recovery."

After feeling numbness in his arm, Michaels, 47, went back to Barrow Neurological Institute, and that's where it was determined that he suffered a minor stroke. Doctors also discovered that he has a hole in his heart. Fortunately, both conditions are treatable.

As for the Apprentice finale, Bret is up against Holly Robinson Peete in the final boardroom showdown. His rep says, "Bret will be there unless his doctors tell him otherwise. We're cautiously optimistic that he will attend."

Sunday night's 2 1/2 hour finale will air in Europe at the same time the secrets of the island will finally be revealed to us west coasters in a bid to curb illegal downloading of the popular series.

UK fans will have to watch the show at 5am if they want to see it before spoilers ruin what could be one of the biggest "oh my God" moments in television.

Of course, the show will air three hours earlier on the east coast -- so why not simulcast the finale at the same time the world over rather than make certain time zones watch it three hours behind?

Rumor #1: Lindsay is currently on Lady Victoria Hervey's yacht (the same boat she partied on until 7:30 am this morning) on her way to St. Tropez.

Rumor #2: Lindsay took off in a private plane bound for London this morning at 10am -- just a few hours after she ended her night of partying -- where we're hearing the starlet threw up three times while aboard the jet!

Rumor #3: Lindsay's sleeping off last night's festivities and plans on partying again in Cannes tonight, where she'll stay until the festival ends on Sunday.

With Lindsay due to appear in court Monday morning, we're hoping rumor #2 is a reality for the bailed-out babe!

Jesse James broke down during an interview in which he publicly admits he cheated on wife Sandra Bullock and says he "took a pretty amazing life and amazing success and marriage ... and threw it away."

Speaking out on camera for the first time since his double life was exposed, James got emotional when Nightline correspondent Vicki Mabrey quoted Bullock's acceptance speech when she told James in front of millions of people, "I never knew what it was like for someone to have my back until I met you." His eyes welled up with tears and he asked to "take a moment" to collect his thoughts.

Lindsay Lohan partied in Cannes until 7:30 am this morning, the day after she posted $100,000 bond to keep her out of jail for failing to show up to court yesterday morning.

Lindsay spent Thursday night and early Friday morning partying a the Palm Beach Club (where Paris Hilton was also in attendance) and then to a party on a yacht.

“Lindsay just doesn’t care," says an X17online photog on the scene in Cannes. "She’s a wanted woman back home but here she’s partying like there’s no tomorrow! I’m beginning to think France will have to extradite her to the US just to get her to go back.”

As a condition of her bail, Lindsay is required to wear a SCRAM device which will test for alcohol in her blood, as well as submit to random drug testing at least once a week.

Perhaps she's trying to have a last hurrah before she returns to LA this weekend and the partying will have to stop -- unless she wants to go to jail!

Hot leading man Gerard Butler is letting his locks go grey, showing off a more salt-and-pepper look in Cannes last night.

Perhaps Butler's trying to age himself -- rumor has it that he's up for the lead role in the remake of A Star Is Born, where he'd play an aging singer opposite a young up-and-comer, rumored to be played by Beyonce. Since their age difference is only 12 years, looks like he's going against the grain in Hollywood and actually trying to age himself up!

Either way, he's still a total fox!

Samantha Ronson had no comment yesterday when we asked if she thought her ex, Lindsay Lohan, should spend some time in jail for allegedly violating her probation and failing to show up for a scheduled court appearance.

Lindsay claims someone stole her passport, but she's been spotted in Cannes seemingly partying without a care in the world!
