The talk show legend presented an award to BFF Gayle King at The New York Women in Communications Matrix Awards today and, despite skipping the red carpet, addressed Kitty Kelly's controversial (and unauthorized) new book about her...

Oprah told the audience that Gayle "sometimes cares about my life more than I do," adding that last week "was a rough one" when a "so-called biography came out."

She concluded her speech with a smile, saying "this, too, shall pass."

Everyone wants a window into Oprah, but she's too smart and guarded. Let it go!
