Paramount wouldn't let critics see the film before it's release, so many media outlets speculated that G.I. Joe was a total disaster, but The Hollywood Reporter is predicting a number one opening for the action packed flick, starring Channing Tatum and Sienna Miller.

Due to strong prerelease tracking and the fan base (mostly young males), THR is estimating that the film will bring in somewhere around $45 million-$50 million.

Will you see this movie? Channing shows off his guns and a raven-haired Sienna is packing some serious heat (just look at the poster above!), so we're definitely interested in checking it out!

Earlier this afternoon, Britney Spears had a shoot at the Ritz Carlton in Marina Del Rey, and the pop princess was looking absolutely amazing in this sexy white bikini! Looks like a little time off from the Circus tour hasn't hurt her tanned physique one bit!

Our X17 photographer on the scene tells us that Britney appeared to be in great spirits, and she was very outgoing and cooperative with everyone on set, which included manager Larry Rudolph and her mother Lynne.

Though it seems to be confirmed that Paula Abdul is completely gone from American Idol, we still think/hope there's a 5% chance she'll return. However, if the folks at Fox are telling the truth, we'll be getting a new judge, so we've begun discussing who we'd like to see take that fourth seat on the Idol panel.

Would they pick a younger, more famous singer like Britney Spears, a rock legend like Joan Jett, or a former Spice Girl like Victoria Beckham? Posh is already going to be a guest judge, but we would love love LOVE it if she was permanently put on the panel. Maybe they're using the one episode stint as a test to see how she does?

Film writer/director John Hughes, 59, died of a heart attack while taking a morning walk in New York City, according to a statement from his rep.

Hughes directed numerous cult classics such as Weird Science, The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and Pretty in Pink.
