Over the weekend, Britney expressed her desire to regain control of her life to her new attorney, Jon Eardley, telling him in a phone conversation on Saturday night:

"I want my life back; I want to be able to drive my car; I want to be able to live in my house by myself. I want to say who is going to be my security guard. I want to see who I want to see at any time and make it happen."


Now, Jon Eardley (via his spokesperson, Michael Sands) has tried to shed some light on exactly what he and Britney are fighting for in federal court.

“Every American has rights. Even the worst criminals, which certainly Britney is not. Even people who do not understand the intricacies of the law understand that they have rights.

The explanation of federal civil procedures are difficult for even experienced attorneys to fully appreciate, but everyone will understand that her rights are being violated. Our legal team will help Britney stand up for her rights.

With the case being switched from the state to the federal court, it does seem that Britney will finally have the chance to argue for the chance to make her own decisions - something that you and I take for granted.
