Justin Bieber visited Yasukuni Shrine in Japan yesterday, and the singer had no idea the landmark honored those who lost their lives during World War II, including war criminals!

Once he realized his faux pas, he took a snapshot of a Time article slamming him for the visit and posted an apology on Instagram.

"While in Japan I asked my driver to pull over for which I saw a beautiful shrine. I was mislead to think the Shrines were only a place of prayer. To anyone I have offended I am extremely sorry. I love you China and I love you Japan," he captioned the photo.

This isn't quite as bad as when the Biebs declared that Anne Frank would have been a "Belieber", but it's pretty close!

People magazine has just announced Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o as its most beautiful person -- and we love it!

Winning both critical acclaim and a slew of awards, including the Academy Award for her performance in 12 Years a Salve, the Mexican-born Kenyan has gone on quite the ride in 2014. People's nod is just some icing on the cake.

Lupita said she never dreamed she'd be the one to be People's 25th anniversary issue. "It was exciting and just a major, major compliment," the 31-year-old star said. "And especially, I was happy for all the girls who would see me on [it] and feel a little more seen."

When it comes to beauty, Lupita says, "Happiness is the most important thing." So true!

Editorial director Jess Cagle explained on the Today show the mag's reasoning behind the choice, "She is fantastic. Obviously, she is the Oscar winner for 12 Years a Slave, raised in Kenya.
