The numbers are in for the controversial premiere of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' second season on Monday -- and they're big.

The premiere got 2.2 million viewers -- up a whopping 42 percent from the first season's premiere last year.

The first season finale of the show got 2.8 million viewers, so, arguably, the second season's premiere was down a bit when compared to that. But, analysts pointed out that the drop could have been a result of the Labor Day holiday.

Ultimately, one thing's for sure: viewers did not see Russell Armstrong's suicide as a reason to stay away from the show.

But will ratings remain? Our X17online poll showed that 44 percent of readers who watched the premiere felt Bravo had handled the incident tastefully and said they would keep watching.

Only time will tell.

Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester isn't letting family matters get her down!

The actress has purchased a $1,457,500 home in Encino, California -- some good news considering she's been dealing with mama drama all summer!

On Tuesday, Leighton, 25, filed a petition in LA's Superior Court to get a $3 million lawsuit from her mom, Constance Meester, thrown out. Constance is suing Leighton over a "management agreement," saying Leighton agreed to pay her $10,000 a month for the rest of her life. Leighton says the agreement never existed.

Luckily, Leighton now has this home to relax in. The four-bedroom, four-bathroom home is 2,847 square feet and features walk-in closets, a steam shower, a fireplace, a built-in barbecue, a pool, a guest suite and a breakfast bar.

Jessica Simpson is responding to rumors that she's getting a breast reduction before her wedding to fiance Eric Johnson.

The rumors started with an InTouch Weekly article citing a source that said Jess hoped a smaller chest would make her look smaller for her wedding.

But on Wednesday, Jess denied the claims, Tweeting:

"Been getting lots of questions about this alleged breast reduction...not to worry...I LOVE MY BOOBIES!! They aren't going anywhere! ... It's UDDERly not true!"

A denial, complete with pun. But while Jess, 31, has avoided this drama, more is coming her way! Rumors are circulating that she's not getting along with fellow mentor Nicole Richie, 29, on the set of the new reality competition show Fashion Star. Uh-oh!

Madonna's famous PR rep, Liz Rosenberg, is defending her client after the media mess that has been Madge's Venice Film Festival run.

Madge, 53, was quoted as telling a French newspaper that Lady Gaga has an "obsession" with her. But Rosenberg says that wasn't a diss, telling Us: "She didn't diss Gaga."

Notably, Rosenberg does not deny or refute the quote. She just says it wasn't a diss. Alrighty!

At publication time, the results of our X17online poll showed that 40 percent of readers thought Madonna was right to diss Gaga, but 40 percent thought the comment was mean.

As for an incident in which Madonna definitely did diss a fan's flower choice, Rosenberg has a what's-the-big-deal attitude.

Madge got a bouquet as a gift from a fan, then said, "I absolutely loathe hydrangeas" (relive the incident below.) Rosenberg's response?

"The hydrangea incident is so ridiculous ... It's not like she said she hated warm chocolate chip cookies and milk and little puppies!"

New toxicology results reveal that Russell Armstrong, husband of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' Taylor Armstrong, was not under the influence when he died in mid-August.

The Los Angeles County Assistant Chief Coroner confirmed Wednesday that Russell had no drugs or alcohol in his system.

Russell's family has reportedly hired a private detective to investigate the case -- they believe hedge fund manager Russell may have been murdered as part of shady business dealings -- he was in massive debt at the time of his death.

The family also reportedly is suspicious of the fact that Russell's business partner also committed suicide within days of Russell.

But, the coroner's office released the cause of Russell's death last month as suicide by hanging, and is sticking to that declaration.

The latest season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills premiered Monday night to harsh reviews.
