Halle Berry is opening up about her custody battle with ex Gabriel Aubry.

The dispute originally began after Halle wanted Nahla to be with her in New York while she filmed a movie in the Big Apple. Aubry, on the other hand, wanted the little girl to stay with him in Los Angeles.

The Oscar-winning actress has been spending the past few weeks at an L.A. County Courthouse with her ex hammering out a custody agreement over 3-year-old daughter Nahla. The couple has reportedly come to an agreement ... and the results are positive.

Berry, 44, tell Extra:

"When there's a child involved, it's a relief when you can resolve things in a good way. Our issues were never about fighting for her. We both know a child needs both her parents. But what I want to say about it is sometimes, as a couple, you reach an impasse. We need a court and a judge to help us work out some of the delicate issues."

Emma Stone has traveled back in time to the pre-Civil Rights era in the film adaptation of the best-selling novel The Help.

Stone, who stars alongside Viola Davis and Bryce Dallas Howard, will play an aspiring writer who records stories of black housekeepers in order to capture the difficulties they face while on the job.
