Disney has backed out of plans to put Katie Holmes' movie Don't Be Afraid of the Dark into theaters.

Back in late June, Disney sold its portion of Miramax to Filmyard Holdings for $660 million, but in the deal, the Mickey Mouse company had agreed to handle distribution of Holmes' thriller produced by Benicio del Toro ... as well as The Debt starring Helen Mirren and Sam Worthington.

Ron Tutor and Colony Capital are both partners in Filmyard, and they're expected to complete the acquisition of Miramax by mid-November.

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark was scheduled to hit theaters on January 21st, and The Debt had a release date of December 29th.

Filmyard has not announced any of the rescheduled release dates. As for why Disney changed their minds in regards to the distribution, they have no comment.

Yesterday Chelsea Handler learned that Nick Cannon was going on tour, (apparently being Mrs. Mariah Carey isn't a full time gig) and she tweeted, "I just heard nick cannon is starting a comedy tour. Who's going to do the comedy?" Ha! But apparently Nick didn't take so kindly to the remark, as he went on a defensive Twitter rampage, hurling insults at the blonde comedienne.

"Wow @chelseahandler I actually used to have respect for you as a comic. But for one artist to diss another in the same art form. #Tasteless ... @chelseahandler just ask your boy Joe Koi about how I smashed this years Montreal fest! RealComicSh!t# ... Soon as I get off stage tonight, I'm going in on @chelseahandler I'm about to be relentless! OFF WITH HER HEAD but right now I got to focus."

After the first few tweets, Chelsea posted a picture of grape soda and wrote, "@nickcannon pls drink this before you tweet me again." A few hours after that, Nick began the second part of his rant, and it got pretty ugly! We're not sure if it was a result of Chelsea's response or because he needed the time to come up with some good zingers of his own, but he then tweeted:

"Okay just left the gotham comedy club in NY, STANDING OVATION! Back tomorrow night! Now let's address this @chelseahandler negativity... Funny how all of @chelseahandler fans are coming at my like I did something to her. I don't even know this broad! She on my sh*t! But since it's all in fun and supposedly just comedy, Let's get to the muthaf*ckin' JOKES!! ... Everyone knows @Chelseahandler had sex with the head of E! for her show. So when it gets canceled does he get residual p*ssy for the reruns? ... @Chelseahandler Looks like she got hit in the face with a hot bag of nickels! ... Just talked to @50Cent He said he made @chelseahandler get G-Unit tattooed on her b*lls! ...@50Cent wasn't hitting @chelseahandler they was just sharing testosterone tips ... @chelseahandler is like the new @joanrivers just without the funny and more plastic surgery."

The tweets are still up on Nick's account (as is the TwitPic of the grape Crush!) but after he was done ragging on Chels, he tweeted, "Just jokes people, LOL! Well I got to be at my next job in a few hours so I will continue the jokes on my morning show."

Joy Behar exchanged verbal jabs yesterday on The View with Bill O'Reilly ... and the two talk show hosts took their drama to their own shows last night.

On her CNN HLN show, Behar, 68, told viewers that O'Reilly had a "pinhead moment." She added, that she was "really angry ... I thought he was saying something that I construe as hate speech, frankly." As for his comments that Muslims were responsible for 9/11 ..."to lump an entire group like that" isn't right.

As for O'Reilly, 61, he addressed The View drama during his "Talking Points Memo" on The O'Reilly Factor. O'Reilly said:

"I am not in the business of sugar coating harsh realities ... I enjoy jousting with The View ladies because, with the exception of Elisabeth Hasselbeck, they don't see it my way. I loved that exposition today. Didn't you?"

Sounds like a feud that isn't going to end anytime soon.

Katy Perry slips into a latex catsuit to promote the launch of her new fragrance, Purr, which will be released in November. Photographer Miles Aldridge shot the sexy pop tart for the ad, and it will accompany a cat-shaped fragrance bottle with bejewelled eyes. Purr purr indeed!
