Ouch! What did two-time Academy Award nominee Edward Norton do to deserve this?

Marvel has released the following statement about the actor and his involvement in the latest Avengers remake... and it's pretty nasty!

"We have made the decision to not bring Ed Norton back to portray the title role of Bruce Banner in The Avengers. Our decision is definitely not one based on monetary factors, but instead rooted in the need for an actor who embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members. The Avengers demands players who thrive working as part of an ensemble, as evidenced by Robert, Chris H., Chris E., Sam, Scarlett, and all of our talented casts. We are looking to announce a name actor who fulfills these requirements, and is passionate about the iconic role in the coming weeks."

Norton is extremely talented - what's UP Primal Fear and American History X! - but perhaps he's not a team player?

A rep for the actor had this to say: "This offensive statement from Kevin Feige at Marvel is a purposefully misleading, inappropriate attempt to paint our client in a negative light... This seemed to us to be a financial decision but, whatever the case, it is completely their prerogative, and we accepted their decision with no hard feelings."

A new tape has surfaced with Mel Gibson ranting and raving at his ex, Oksana Grigorieva ... this time with him threatening her life.

After Oksana, 40, tells Mel, 54, that he needs medication, the actor tells her she needs a brain transplant ... and then spends eight-minutes in a profanity-laced rant.

Once Grigorieva refuses to apologize for anything, Gibson replies:

"Then you're a dishonest c--t! I will not be patronized by you and your f ***ing dishonesty... I will make your god**mn life miserable."

He goes on to say, "I'll put you in a fucking rose garden you c**t! You understand that? Because I'm capable of it!"

As for who released the audio recordings, Oksana previously told X17online that she has "no idea."

Gibson and Grigorieva are both due in court July 20 over the restraining order.

Charlie Sheen was due in court this morning in Colorado for a hearing on the misdemeanor assault charge stemming from the Christmas day scuffle he got into with his estranged wife Brooke Mueller, but it has been postponed until August 2nd.

The delay, which was requested by Sheen's attorney, was is intended "to allow both parties to pursue a possible plea disposition," a statement from the court said on Friday.

Charlie was arrested on Christmas day after a fight with Mueller at their vacation home in Aspen turned ugly. She called 911 in the early morning of December 25th, claiming Charlie had threatened her with a knife. Charlie has pleaded "no contest" to the misdemeanor charge.

Charlie had initially agreed to a work release program as part of his plea deal, where was to "coach" actors in a local theater called Theatre Aspen, who are putting on three plays: "Three Little Pigs", "The Wonderettes" and "Same Time Next Year." Under the work release terms, Charlie would have been able to leave jail by 8am and return twelve hours later.

But those negotiations hit a snag over whether or not he'd be allowed to smoke cigarettes while on work release.

Now, the rescheduled hearing may mean trouble for his Two and a Half Men schedule. Filming on his hit CBS show is supposed to start the very next day.
