Yesterday police confirmed that Peter Lopez, the husband of Dukes Of Hazzard TV star Catherine Bach shot himself in an apparent suicide. We spotted the coroner's van removing the body from the couple's Encino Hills home, and we also saw an officer walking away from the crime scene with the gun Lopez reportedly used to shoot himself.

A spokesperson for the police department spoke to several members of the press and said there was no evidence of foul play, and Ed Winter from the LA County Coroner's office added that a neighbor reported hearing a gunshot, and a person inside the residence was the one who located Lopez's body. Bach has already spoken to law enforcement officials and it looks like she'll have further questioning over the next few days.

Bach's publicist, Steve Rohr, says the Lopez family has suffered a "tragic personal loss."

Katherine Heigl took her little Naleigh for a girls' day out shopping in Malibu yesterday.

The pair shopped at 98% Angel and picked up some adorable new clothes for the little tyke. Our photographer on the scene tells us: "Katherine is SO in love with this little girl and they are so cute together. Katherine couldn't stop hugging and kissing Naleigh and Naleigh was in heaven."
