The drummer was in Calabasas with his daughter Alabama when, out of nowhere, started hurling obscenities - and spit - at an X17 photog!

Travis threatened: "I'll kick the sh*t out of you, bro! If I didn't have my little girl in my hands, you'd be f***ed."

Whoa! In front of your kid, Travis? Not cool. What could've made the dude so mad?

Meanwhile, one of Travis' pals slashed a photog's tire - the police were called and a police report was filed. Our photog has this to say:

"We've never seen Travis like this. He's usually so nice! All I said to him was 'hi' and he went off. I didn't even know how to react!"

An inside source tells X17online that Jess was there with BFF Ken Paves to celebrate the birthday for twins Evan and Taylor Hart. "Jessica and Evan weren't there together as a couple. In fact, I believe Evan has a girlfriend. Jess is just friends with all of them."

Oh and get this - Simpson even picked up the bar tab for everyone at the club. Hot damn! Talk about being generous.

I'd much rather see Victoria Beckham and Gwen Stefani practicing martial arts together, but I suppose it's better suited for their kids! Cruz Beckham celebrated his 5th birthday at the Xtreme Martial Arts World Headquarters and Kingston and Zuma were two of his guests. You know Kingston had a blast!
